by Michael Nathan Steinmetz (Author)
Apologetics seeks a rational justification of the Christian faith to both defend Christianity and provide evangelistic opportunity. Unfortunately, apologetics can be overly noetic, neglecting the complexities of human existence and the will to believe. Danish theologian/philosopher S ren Kierkegaard, seen as an antagonist in numerous apologetic circles, offers a counterbalance to the polemical, objective arguments for the Christian faith. Kierkegaard is a needed voice in apologetics--an asset to the apologetic enterprise--speaking to our condition as humans who are more than just "thinking things."
