Previously, Betty was Senior Lecturer on the Counselling Psychology Programme at UEL, and on the Board of Examiners for the BPS QCoP; she contributed to the government-endorsed document 'Every Child Matters' and is named by the BPS as an expert in Emotional Intelligence and non-verbal communication. She has worked with children, teenagers and adults since the 1960s; and for ten years under the NHS umbrella, within a Community Adult Mental Health Service.
