Author Biography
Eileen Sammons Tidwell is a lifelong Christian horsewoman. Set in the innocent days of the 1950s, Girl on Horseback Volume I is based on her life experiences with horses. She's the author of the award-winning Life in Spite of A Death Sentence, When Harriet Met Harlow, and other books, stories and articles. She lives with her husband, horses, dogs, cats and other critters west of Fort Worth, Texas in Parker County. They have a daughter, two sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eileen attended Wichita Falls Senior High and Midwestern State University. She retired from the Lockheed-Martin where she worked in publications. She has owned and shown such notable horses as Oreo Van Tyke, Judge Lasan, GoGo Lasan and others in her 65 years with horses. She has maintained a Quarter Horse Bloodline going back to 1950, with her current horse Lynx Lasan the great granddaughter of the mare 'Jit' in the book was based on.
