Expressions From Within - Paperback

Poetry was never meaningful to me, but after hearing a poet speak, while attending the University of Southern California in 1960, I became aware of how meaningful poetry can be in our lives. I never even attempted writing poetry until I retired in 2001 and the ideas began to flow as I meditated on my years as a secondary teacher and school administrator, and on my hobbies. The poem, "Seasons", came to me this year as I sat at my desk in a small country school in Arkansas where I often spend time substituting. I spent twenty-five years in Europe and pursued hunting as a hobby, ardently while living there. I am now back in Arkansas and spend much of my time pursuing my hobbies of fishing and hunting. It is during such activities that I am truly inspired to express my feelings portrayed in my poem, "Seasons".
