Saffron crocus, considered to be the most valuable spice by weight, and its\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebioactive constituents, have been studied for the treatment of a wide range of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epathologies, including neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ediabetes, and even cardiovascular diseases. In this book on the chemistry, pharmacology, \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eand therapeutic potential of Crocus sativus L. extract and its constituents, we aimed to\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eassess new advances in the understanding of the therapeutic action of saffron and its\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003econstituents in targeting different pathologies. In this context, eight original research\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003earticles covering recent advances in the therapeutic actions of saffron and its ingredients\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ein different diseases are reported.
