Author Biography
Karl F. Schmid, PE, LEED AP, is a construction consultant based in Los Angeles, California. A retired Chief Building Inspection Engineer for New York City Department of Housing, he holds a BCE from the City College of New York, an MS degree in civil engineering from Stanford, and an MBA from Cornell University. He has held a variety of positions with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cornell University, City University of New York, and the City of New York's Department of Buildings. Besides this book, Mr. Schmid has authored Construction Crew Supervision and Construction Cost Estimating also published by Momentum Press.
