These tribes have historically fought against nation-state interference, employing strategies that draw on their transnational orientation to survive and thrive.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSchulze details the complexities of the tribes' claims to nationhood in the context of the border from the nineteenth century to the present.
