I was born and raised in California, from Los Angeles to the San Francisco Bay Area. It is a great melting-pot of culture! The music in my books is my way of documenting the culture I am from. The virtuoso and composer Frédéric François Chopin (1810 - 1849) created many songs in the Polonaise form, honoring Poland; my \"Soulsa\" music perhaps is my \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003e\"Californaise.\" \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI've been blessed to be inspired by so many lovely sounds: Soul Music, Caribbean, Spanish, African, Classical, Jazz, Fusion, Rhythm \u0026amp; Blues, Flamenco, Disco, Funk and many more.
