But April also brings Earth Day, National DNA Day and the ever-dreaded Tax Day  April Showers was written during National Poetry Month of 2013, in which one poet wrote at least one poem a day that captured everything she read, saw and experienced in verse, as well as celebrating April's special days.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAuthor Biography\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDawn Colclasure's passion for books and poetry began at a young age, while recovering in a hospital from a car accident that left her with third degree burns. She later created the Circle of Poets in Palm Desert, CA, a local poetry club where she held readings and published the club magazine, American Bard. Later, she was poetry editor for an e-magazine and has served as poetry judge for writing contests. In addition to writing poetry books such as Love is Like a Rainbow: Poems of Love and Devotion, Dogs Forever: Poems for the Dog Person (with her daughter Jennifer Wilson) and Touched by Fire, she has also written children's books such as Hunter's Upcycling Adventures, the novel, Shadow of Samhain, and the collection of essays, Parenting Pauses: Life as a Deaf Parent. She lives in Oregon.
