In Kenya, indoor and outdoor air pollution levels of over 5500 and 440 micrograms \/m3 have been registered. This is causing climate change and respiratory diseases such as obstructive respiratory pulmonary diseases and asthma, thereby increasing the already high burden of environmental and occupational diseases. This can be improved if policies are formulated using local research evidence on environmental quality and health.
