About the Author: Frances Tipper Frances Tipper is the Managing Director and Founding Partner of SpokenWord Limited, a training company covering all aspects of business persuasion. Frances creates and delivers training programmes in Negotiation, Selling, Presentation, Communication and Personal Impact. Frances began her career in sales and marketing at Reuters (now Thomson Reuters), the global news and financial information provider, initially in London and later in the US. When Frances moved back to London, she founded SpokenWord Limited in 2002 and began developing the company. Today, she and her team of business experts and entrepreneurs (including Mike!) develop and deliver ground-breaking training programmes in areas such as communication, influence and persuasion, leadership and negotiation skills. Frances was educated at St Bernard's Convent, Berkshire and Leeds University where she completed at BA (Hons) degree in Russian and International History. She is a relatively good musician, playing the flute, saxophone and piano. Frances is married with two teenage boys who know, instinctively, every dirty trick in negotiation and use them very successfully on their parents. She also has a very fat cat and two chubby chickens. About the Author: Mike Phipps Mike is a professionally qualified facilitator, consultant and trainer with over 20 years of experience in delivering high quality training interventions to both public and private sector organisations. He is one of Europe's leading experts in influence, negotiation and organisational politics. Mike is co-author of 21 Dirty Tricks at Work (2006) Political Dilemmas at Work (2008), and sole author of 21 Dirty Tricks at Work (Again!) (2016). He has also been published in various trade magazines including a front cover article for Training Journal. Mike is married with two teenage boys who have taught him more about negotiation and manipulation than any other learning opportunity. He is also a songwriter for the UK based band The Reform Club.
