Jody Smith, M.A., has worked for over 30 years in education, as both as classroom teacher and more recently as an instructional coach for kindergarten through second grade teachers. She supports teachers in understanding why and how to implement the science of reading in their literacy instruction. In addition, Jody develops curriculum and has authored a wide range of resources that translate educational research into practical classroom strategies, including What the Science of Reading Says: Literacy Strategies for Early Childhood.
Suzanne I. Barchers, Ed.D., has been in education for more than 40 years as a classroom teacher and educational author and publisher. An award-winning author, she has written many educational resources and previously served as managing editor, editor-in-chief, and vice president at several leading educational companies. Barchers is past president of the board of directors for the Associated of Educational Publishers.
