Biblical infallibility is a sine quo non in any evangelical theology. Nevertheless, the interpreter may be unduly influenced by psychological or cultural factors or little exposed to other religious traditions and further discoveries about the universe. These often-unconscious sources of interpretation inevitably impact scriptural exegesis, theological interpretation, and doctrinal definition, engendering internal tensions and aporias in questions such as the relation between divine sovereignty, evil, and unjust suffering, and the validity of other religious traditions. Author Biography
Edmond Zi-Kang Chua is an academic researcher in trinitarian, Asian, patristic, and systematic theology. He is author of a three-volume systematic theology: A Systematic Theology from East Asia (2023); Experience, Culture and Religion in Systematic Theology (2023); and Divine Sensibility (2025).
